Thunder at 4 p.m.: Durant says team must look beyond trade

NORMAN — The 2012-13 NBA season tips off tonight with a triple header of games. They include the Boston against the defending champion Heat and Dallas taking on the L.A. Lakers.

Brooklyn and New York are scheduled to play, but the Hurricane Sandy has left those plans in the air.

Oklahoma City will not take to the court until Thursday when it travels to San Antonio. That gives the Thunder some extra time to integrate its newest members Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb to the team. The two were part of the blockbuster trade that sent sixth-man of the year James Harden to the Rockets. They also lost Cole Aldrich and Daequan Cook. It's a look the team's core is going to have to get used to seeing.

“It was tough,” Kevin Durant said. “It was a little awkward today not having Daequan, Lazar, Cole and James here. But it’s a new day for us and we’ve been through it before [with Jeff Green], so we’ve just got to move on.”

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)? Bear in mind some less popular channels could go by the wayside with no bundling support, and that while overall packages should theoretically decrease in cost, individual channels might cost more.

Strongly in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat opposed to a la carte.
Strongly opposed to a la carte.
