NORMAN — An Oklahoma softball pitcher will join the USA Softball team at the 2011 Canadian Open Fast-Pitch International Championship in Surrey, British Columbia.
Keilani Ricketts and the team will face Team Australia Saturday afternoon in the women's international round robin before playing Team Japan Saturday night.
Ricketts helped the Women's National Team to an 11-0 victory over the Junior National Team on June 29 in one of two exhibition games between the teams. Ricketts pitched three hitless innings with four strikeouts in the victory.
She finished her sophomore season with a 29-15 record and helped lead the Sooners back to the Women's College World Series for the first time since 2004.
Ricketts holds the school record for strikeouts in a single game after getting 19 against Iona in the NCAA Regionals.
