Bandits beat Rogers County in extra innings

TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — Bo Adams hit the game winning RBI single in the tenth on Thursday to lift the Oklahoma Bandits to a 5-4 victory over Rogers County on the road.

After Rogers County tied the game in the bottom of the ninth, the Bandits struck back in the tenth. Matt Crawley reached base on a fielder’s choice then Adams hit the RBI single to score Crawley and give Oklahoma the one-run advantage.

Blake Cantrell then held the Rangers scoreless in the bottom of the tenth to seal the victory.

Early on, Rogers County got on the board first in the game when they put up a run in the fourth inning.

The Bandits finally broke through in the seventh when Levi Keeton scored on a passed ball to even the score at 1-to-1. Keeton had reached base on an error.

After Rogers County retook the lead with a run in their half of the seventh, the Bandits scored three in the top of the eighth to jump back on top 4-2.

Chase Goodnight had an RBI single to score Jake Robinson and Crawley had an RBI triple to score Goodnight.

Crawley added the third run of the inning when he scored on a Rangers error.

Rogers County, however, refused to go away and they tied the game with a run in the eighth and the ninth to send the game to extras.

After the Bandits scored on Adams’ RBI in the top of the tenth, the Rangers had a chance to tie the game, but Kevin Phillips was thrown out by Robinson at home to end the game.
