Lady Riders beat Keys 6-5

TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — The Hulbert Lady Riders defeated the Keys Lady Cougars 6-5 in the final Big Eight Conference game Tuesday as Jo Wynn had the game winning hit in the sixth inning with a double to score Lindsay Hutson. Hutson had reached on a single.

The Lady Riders scored one run in the first as Jordan Landsaw doubled and scored on an error.

Hulbert added two runs in the second inning as Dahlia Alyia and Ashley Shoemaker scored.

They both had reached on errors Alyia scored on an error and Shoemaker scored on a Wynn single.

The Lady Riders scored another run in the fourth as Hutson singled and scored on a Wynn single.

When it was said and done Wynn was 3-for-4 on the day with three RBIs.

Hulbert scored in the fifth as Aleah Young had an RBI single that scored Pamela Farmer, who reached on a fielders choice.

Farmer was the winning pitcher with two strikeouts.

Keys scored two runs in the second inning as Megan Rogers had a two-RBI double that scored Brittney Drywater and Hannah Swan. Drywater had reached on a single and Swan got on by a fielders choice.

The Lady Cougars added two more runs in the fourth as Swan walked and Rogers got on an fielders choice. Both scored on errors.

Whitney Bellew was 2-for-4 and Megan Alseney and C.J. Alseney were each 2-for-3 for Keys.

Hutson went 2-for-3 for Hulbert.

Drywater was the losing pitcher for the Lady Cougars with one strikeout.

Hulbert 7, Gore 3

The Hulbert Lady Riders were led by Hutson's two-RBI double in the third inning in the first game Monday in the 7-3 win at Gore.

Paiten Taylor doubled and Courtney Buford singled to get on base.

Both scored on Hutson's double. Gore forfeited the second game accounting for the sweep.

Hulbert scored in the first as Maykala Young had an RBI single scoring Wynn who had walked.

The Lady Riders then scored twice in the second inning as Shoemaker sent Taylor home on an single and Wynn had a RBI single to score Shoemaker.

Hulbert scored two runs in the sixth as Alyia had an RBI single scoring Buford who had singled and Shoemaker had a RBI single that scored Hutson who had doubled. Farmer was the winning pitcher with one strikeout.

The Lady Riders finish the regular season with a 6-6 record in Big Eight Conference play and 7-10 overall.

Hulbert will play in districts Thursday against Sallisaw Central at 4 p.m.
