TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — The Keys Cougars golf team finished tied for fourth place along with Pittsburg, Kansas with a score of 367 in windy conditions at the Miami Tournament Monday.

Out of 24 teams, Joplin High School won the tournament with a total score of 333.

“Conditions were horrible,” coach Keith Hunt said. “Winds were gusting up to 40 miles per hour. It was really, really rough.”

For Keys, Cody Bair shot an 89, Ross Robins shot a 90, Matt Ozturk shot a 91, Christian Daugherty shot a 97 and Tanner Yount shot a 98 on the par-72 course.

The team score of 367 was taken from the best four individual scores.

The Lady Cougars hit the course in the Savannah Tournament at Arrowhead State Park Wednesday.

The next action for the boys team is April 4 when they travel to Sallisaw for the Sallisaw Tournament. After that, they play two days later in the Grove Tournament.
