In a dual that featured nine forfeits, Keys was able to win enough bouts to knock off county rival, Sequoyah, on Tuesday night.
For Keys, Seth Fritts (145) pinned Robert Smith early in the second period. The Cougars’ only other win on the mat came when John Haeberle (160) pinned Daryk Meigs in the first period.
The Cougars’ Christian Hemmerich (106), Nick Jumper (152), Kenneth Brown (170), Seth Alsenay (220) and Frankie Walker (heavyweight) all won by forfeit.
Sequoyah’s Damon Davidson (120) and William Tiger (126) both picked up wins for the Indians.
Both Keys and Sequoyah will wrestle at the Pawhuska tournament on Friday and Saturday.
