STILLWATER — An Oklahoma State runner from Lithuania has advanced to the final race for the 800 meters event at the European Athletic Championships in Helsinki, Finland.
Officials said Thursday Natalja Piliusina ran a 2:02.12 to place third in her heat and eighth overall. The two top finishers in three heats advanced automatically, along with the two next fastest times from the remaining competitors.
Piliusina qualified for the last spot in Friday's 800 meter final, which will be run at 1:45 p.m. central time.
