Maverick Conference Tournament preview capsule

Teams and wrestlers to watch

Keys - The Cougars coming off a fifth-place finish at the Pawhuska tournament last weekend.

• Seth Fritts - The wrestler won the 138-pound title at the Pawhuska tournament last weekend while being named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler of the lower weights. Fritts has also won titles at the Inola and Okmulgee tournaments while only enduring one loss this season.

• Kenneth Brown - The 160-pound sophomore finished second at the Pawhuska tournament last weekend. Brown also finished second at the Inola tournament after winning the 170-pound crown in Okmulgee in December.



Fort Gibson

• Nick Bailey - won the Sallisaw tournament



Jay - The Bulldogs won the team title at the Paul Post Invitational in Sallisaw last weekend.

• Cole Wheeler (138)

• Brandon White (160) - 2nd at Sallisaw



Poteau

• Devin Anderson (120) - Finished second at the Sallisaw tournament.

• Tyler Tustin (138) - Won the title at the Sallisaw tournament.

• Derek Francis (170) - Second at the Sallisaw tournament.



Sallisaw - Fourth at its own tournament, the Paul Post Invitational.

• Chance Blount (132) - Finished second at the Sallisaw tournament.

• Cale Wilson (182) - Won the title at the Sallisaw tournament.

• Jaden Davenport (195) - Won the Sallisaw tournament and the Tuttle tournament.



Stilwell - Finished sixth at the Paul Post Invitational.

• Wyatt Sheets (126) - Has won individual crowns at the Sallisaw and Tuttle tournaments.

• Keaton Sheets (152) - Has won individual crowns at the Sallisaw and Tuttle tournaments.



Vian

• Rowdy Simon (182) - Finished second at the Tuttle tournament.

• Cale Mays (195) - Finished second at the Tuttle tournament.

• Tre Locust (Hwt) - Finished second at the Tuttle tournament.



Wagoner - Won the Coweta tournament last week, beating Coweta by five points.

• Trenton Miller (132) - Finished first at the Coweta tournament.

• Brad Boswell (145) - Finished first at the Coweta tournament.

• Derek Marshall (220) - Finished first at the Coweta tournament.



Webbers Falls

• Tyson Hume (113) - Finished second at the Sallisaw tournament.

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)?
