CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Damen Bell-Holter had 27 points and 13 rebounds to lead Oral Roberts over Texas A&M-CC 64-52 Thursday night.
Bell-Holter was 8 of 9 from the field. Warren Niles scored 14 points and Shawn Glover had 12 for the Golden Eagles (9-8, 4-1 Southland).
The Golden Eagles led 25-23 at halftime in a game with seven lead changes. The Golden Eagles shot 43.9 percent from the field for the game, while the Islanders shot 35.8 percent. The Golden Eagles outrebounded Texas A&M-CC 35-27 and had 21 points off turnovers by the Islanders.
Will Nelson had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Texas A&M-CC (2-13, 1-4) with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles are in their first season as a member of the Southland Conference.
This was the second meeting ever between the Golden Eagles and the Islanders. The first was in 2007 and Texas A&M-CC won 86-81.
