SAPULPA — Reese Davis recorded Tahlequah’s highest finish in what resulted in a 14th-place finish for the Tigers at the Jerry Billings Invitational in Sapulpa.
Davis, at 138 pounds, lost a 18-6 major decision to Berryhill’s Jonce Blaylock to finish second for Tahlequah. Davis went 3-0 to reach the finals, recording one win by fall and two by decision.
At 145 pounds, Tahlequah’s Hestin Lamons came in fifth place. Lamons beat Edison’s Reegie Dunn, 14-5, to become Tahlequah’s second placer.
Edmond North won the tournament with 191 points, beating Broken Arrow by 29.5 points. Union, Muskogee and Ponca City rounded out the top five.
