Lindsey Wade pitched five scoreless innings as Tahlequah closed out District 5A-3 play with a 13-0 victory over Edison on Monday.
Wade struck out 12 of the 18 batters she faced while only giving up two hits.
On offense, Tahlequah got two hits apiece from Marissa Girdner, Britney Johnson, Randee O’Donnell, Whitney Wright and Bub Peters. Johnson also had three runs batted in.
The Lady Tigers (26-7, 10-2 District 5A-3) will host Coweta on Tuesday.
SHS falls at home to Coweta
Class 4A No. 10 Sequoyah lost a home volleyball match to Coweta on Monday night, losing 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-18).
“On our serving game, we didn’t bring our A game,” Sequoyah coach Jay Herrin said. “It wasn’t B or C either. It was just a very disappointing performance.”
Sequoyah (19-11) will close out the regular season tonight at Okay, and the Lady Indians will enter postseason play on Thursday in a 4A regional against Kellyville at Rogers High School in Tulsa.
Regional draws handed out
Sequoyah and Hulbert will hit the road for regional softball action this week.
Sequoyah will go to Westville and take on Stigler in the first round of the four-team regional on Thursday at 2 p.m. The other first-round matchup will pit Spiro and against Westville.
Hulbert will play at Oktaha against the regional tournament host in the first round at noon. The other first-round matchup is Warner against Stroud.
The championship game of both regionals will be Friday.
