STILLWATER — Though Oklahoma State senior Brodrick Brown didn't get to see his former teammate in the secondary, Markelle Martin, make his NFL debut on Sunday, the current OSU cornerback was happy to hear Martin played — and recorded two tackles — in the Tennessee Titans season opener.

"I haven't talked to him about it yet and didn't get to see it, but I'm pretty sure he was happy being out there — especially going through what he had gone through (with an injury)," Brown said of Brown, who was a sixth-round draft pick by the Titans. "He's an athlete, so I'm sure he was happy to be out there and I'm just happy he made it and he gets to continue to play the sport that he loves."

Brown said having old teammates make the leap to the NFL level has given him even more motivation to make the jump himself after his final season as a Cowboy.

"It's a blessing to see your friends and your peers going on to continue to play at the next level," Brown said. "It's always a motivation. You want to play the game to be the best and to make it to the next level.

"It's been motivation since I first got to college. I always had a dream that I could be one of those guys that are playing in the NFL. I've just got to wait my turn and hopefully when my chance comes, I'll be in the same spot as those guys who have gone ahead of me."

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)? Bear in mind some less popular channels could go by the wayside with no bundling support, and that while overall packages should theoretically decrease in cost, individual channels might cost more.

Strongly in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat opposed to a la carte.
