MOORE — The Class 5A No. 10 Tahlequah girls closed out the John Nobles Tournament in Moore with a 52-39 victory over Ponca City on Saturday afternoon.
Randee O’Donnell paced the Lady Tigers (10-7) with 20 points. Marisa Girdner chipped in with 10.
For Ponca City, Kendall Dunn posted 23 points.
In the Tahlequah boys’ game, the Tigers avoided losing all three games in the tournament by beating Northwest Classen 78-60.
Lain Wright turned in an all-around performance for Tahlequah, recording 28 points, six rebounds and four assists. Dalton Cunningham added 14 points for the Tigers, and Jake Vader registered 14 points.
Helping Tahlequah prevail was a 21-of-26 effort at the free-throw line.
Up next for both Tahlequah teams will be games at Coweta on Tuesday night.
