Sheriff's Beat - Teasing sparks assault report

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies filed an assault report last week.

Sheila Oropeca said she was hit by a man as people were joking with him about being a grandfather.

In other matters, Travis Maddox told deputies last week he felt threatened after an argument with a woman. He said she threatened to flatten his tires and send several people to assault him.

Peggy Pickel filed an information report last week.

Gordon Millspaugh reported theft of property last Tuesday.

Janice Sloan filed an information report recently.
