Child abuse reported

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies took a report last week about possible child abuse.

Deputies were told a 9-year-old boy was found to have bruising, which may have been caused when he was spanked numerous times by a couple of people.

Cathy Martin filed a report last week about a pile of gravel being dumped in the middle of an easement and blocking it from being used.

Mark Hugoboom reported the theft of several firearms last week, including a semi-automatic 300 Savage 30-caliber hunting rifle with a maple stock; a pump-action Winchester 12 gage maple-colored firearm; a 270 bolt-action Savage rifle with a black scope and black stock; and a Marlin 30-30 that is dark-maple colored with a camo strap.

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)? Bear in mind some less popular channels could go by the wayside with no bundling support, and that while overall packages should theoretically decrease in cost, individual channels might cost more.

Strongly in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat in favor of a la carte.
