Area woman reports vehicle missing

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies spoke to a woman Saturday after she discovered a vehicle missing.

Ruth Bantista said her 1996 Chevrolet Lumina broke down along old State Highway 10 several months ago. She discovered recently that the vehicle is no longer there. The car is a teal-green color with a tag of 0826CO, and it was last seen in the area in July.

Jacob Anthony Burgess, 28, of Tahlequah, was arrested Saturday for public intoxication.

Deputies took a report recently from a 17-year-old girl who said she was sexually assaulted by her boyfriend several times over a period of time, and in several locations.

Ashley Oosahwe-Dushane reported vandalism to a vehicle Saturday.

Alan Judkins spoke to deputies Friday about someone stealing a no-trespassing sign and throwing a dead armadillo in his yard.

Deputies spoke to a woman Friday who said three children had been molested by a male relative.
