TAHLEQUAH —
An employee of a local smoke shop reported receiving bad checks recently.
A woman reportedly used three different checks, totaling more than $1,300, to purchase cigarettes at Briggs Tobacco Outlet. Employees said the checks were bad, and they haven’t been able to contact the woman.
Deputies spoke to Allen Buckspan last month about a home burglary where around 200 DVDs were taken, along with Bose speakers, tools, a digital camera, Nintendo Wii, furniture, and many other items.
Martha Moore spoke to deputies recently about being threatened and about the theft of property.
Robert Mathews reported a stolen four-wheeler this week.
Danielle Coursey spoke to deputies this week about a man who applied for a job at a local company. The man who applied later sent several inappropriate emails and made several calls to the company.
David Springer spoke to deputies Tuesday after his 10-year-old boxer/bulldog either wandered off or was stolen.

Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies took a report Sunday after a flatbed trailer was stolen. Terry Foster said the 20-foot trailer was taken from a residence on Shady Grove Road. The trailer has an aluminum tool box with a 9,000-pound Warn winch on the front.
