Police Beat - Dog tracks man who fled from cops

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police arrested a man Wednesday after he ran from officers.

Darren Beaver, 24, of Stilwell, was apprehended after a new canine officer and handler tracked Beaver into a wooded area. Beaver was wanted on felony warrants.

Corey Hooper, 22, of Bunch, was arrested Wednesday for shoplifting from Walmart.

Cynthia Mejia, 19, of Tahlequah, was arrested Wednesday for shoplifting from Walmart.

Casey Fencer, 18, of Kansas, Okla., was booked for driving under the influence Wednesday.

Sherri R. Singleton, 40, and Dewitt J. Chuculate, 57, both of Hulbert, were arrested Thursday on alcohol-related charges.

Louis Chaffin spoke to police this week after five bicycles were stolen from his residence.

Timothy Scrapper, of Calvary Church, told police this week that two weed-eaters were stolen.

Rebecca Davis reported a stolen Coach coin purse this week.

Jack Garrett reported illegal dumping Tuesday.

Leigh Sadr-Montaz told police about a protective-order violation Tuesday.

Police arrested a juvenile earlier this week as part of a burglary investigation.
