Sheriff's Beat

Stolen property recovered

Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies recovered stolen property Monday and arrested an area man.

Dewey Garrett Walker, 28, was booked Monday evening by Sheriff’s Deputy Bob Lewandowski on counts of possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and public drunk. A probable cause affidavit states Walker had property belonging to Ronnie Sanders, of Tenkiller Harbor.

Michael James Miller was booked Monday for DUI drugs, driving left of center and no insurance. Reports state Miller almost hit Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Vick’s patrol vehicle before Vick made the traffic stop. Miller allegedly said he had taken Xanax before driving.

Sandra Powell and Ambrosia Victory filed separate threat reports Monday.

A burglary report was filed for a break-in Sunday at the Dollar Store in Cookson. Nothing was missing.

Joseph Anderson said Sunday someone took his Jennings 9mm pistol.

Joey Radosevich said Friday a dog was shot after getting into an area where he keeps some deer he’s raising.
