Sheriff's report for Thursday, Aug. 28

TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — A self-inflicted gunshot wound suffered Tuesday night by a Qualls man is being ruled accidental.

Randal McGowen, 43, was treated for injuries after shooting himself in the right leg above the knee. The round exited in the inner thigh area and was fired with a .22-caliber pistol. McGowen said a family dog jumped into his lap, causing him to pull the trigger.

William Smith filed an aggressive driving report against another man who was allegedly hogging the road Tuesday.

Cheryl Hammond said Monday her mail was stolen.

Sheriff’s Deputy Jim Flores arrested Joseph M. Grasshopper, 28, for DUI Tuesday. Some beer was found in the vehicle.

A 17-year-old girl said Tuesday someone took her purse from her vehicle. It contained an iPod and a digital camera.

Jessie Walker reported Tuesday someone leaving one of his rental property trashed out and with an unpaid utility bill.

Henry Whitekiller said Monday someone intimidated him.

Shirley Grogan said Sunday a window was knocked out of her shed.
