Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman Sunday after a traffic stop allegedly led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia.
Sara Redbird Eversole, 21, of Tahlequah, was booked for possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies stopped a vehicle and later received assistance from Tahlequah Officer Cory Keele and his canine partner. The dog reportedly alerted to possible drugs, and officers found a small bag containing a white, powdery substance in Eversole’s purse. Deputies said the substance field-tested positive as methamphetamine.
Sheila L. Oropeza, 34, of Tahlequah, was arrested Sunday for possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver’s license and an expired tag.
Gary Wayne Martin, 29, of Tahlequah, was arrested Saturday for assault and battery and resisting arrest. Deputies said Martin assaulted a woman at the Elks Lodge and left. Deputies said they had a scuffle with Martin when they placed him into custody at his home. The victim of the attack had to seek medical treatment, deputies said.
Deputies spoke to Chandra Sharp Saturday after she was kicked, slapped, and pushed to the ground. Sharp was also threatened, she told deputies.
Jonathan Wiles spoke to deputies recently about threats from a neighbor.
Anna Williams told deputies a red utility trailer with 15-inch wheels was taken from her property.
