Deputies arrest drunken teen who shoved officer

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies say they arrested a 15-year-old boy this week after he became intoxicated and shoved an officer.

Deputies were called to the Park Hill area to try calming the teen, who had reportedly consumed vodka. The boy allegedly refused to lower his voice and shoved a deputy, then spat on him. The deputy said he had to handcuff the boy and transport him to the sheriff’s office. Deputies said the teen tried to kick out vehicle windows and escape custody several times during the transport. He was later released to a family member.

In other matters, deputies spoke to Randal Sunday on Tuesday after a credit card was taken and used.

Kelsei Kennedy filed a harassment report Tuesday.

Edwin Jennings told deputies someone illegally dumped materials on his property.

Roberta Maize reported that a child was choked Tuesday.

George Allen Murphy, 33, was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place last week.

Jeremy Crittenden told deputies this week about a home burglary and theft of guns.

Richard Nation filed an information report Monday.

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)? Bear in mind some less popular channels could go by the wayside with no bundling support, and that while overall packages should theoretically decrease in cost, individual channels might cost more.

Strongly in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat in favor of a la carte.
