Sheriff's Beat - Woman assaulted

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies spoke to a woman this week after she was assaulted by a man.

The woman said the man kicked her in the ribs while he was wearing steel-toed boots, and when she tried to escape, he caught her, grabbed her hair and threw her down. She said the man also became physical with a young girl.

In other matters, deputies spoke to Jamie Smith Tuesday after Smith’s TV, PlayStation 3, games and medications were stolen.

Amanda Keener spoke to deputies last weekend about an assault.

Roxie Wagers reported this week that someone has used his name to write and use checks at a smokeshop.

Craig Wing filed an assault report last Saturday.
