Woman’s rings taken

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies spoke to a woman last week after a man took her rings.

Opal Murphy said she woke up to find a man was using lotion to remove her rings. He told Murphy he was going to put the rings up, and refused to give them back, then verbally threatened her.

Charles Hilton spoke to deputies earlier this week about a renter who has been giving him problems. Hilton said the renter will not pay rent and will not move out, though he has asked her to do so.

Billy Fountain told deputies Monday that a woman approached her at a store on State Highway 100 and threatened her.

A report was filed this week on possible child abuse investigated last month. A father told deputies he noticed bruises on a 3-year-old girl and took the girl to a doctor to have them checked out.

Poll

Where do you think bicycle trails are most needed in Cherokee County?

In the downtown corridor.
Not downtown, because it would be too congested, but on peripheral streets, like Bluff, Downing and College, and Muskogee but not downtown.
On the rural highways mainly in recreational areas, like Highways 10 and 82.
Only in special areas, like parks.
I do not think Cherokee County needs any (or more) bike trails.
