Arkansas man jailed after traffic stop

TAHLEQUAH — An Arkansas man was jailed by Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies Friday after a traffic stop.

Deputy Dexter Scott said he witnessed a vehicle driven by Christopher Scott Cloughly, 20, of Springdale, Ark., travel left of center and weave side to side. A traffic stop was conducted, and Cloughly allegedly admitted he’d had a few shots of liquor. Deputies said he also smelled of alcohol, and admitted he had switched the license plates on his car and truck. He was booked for driving under the influence, no driver’s license, and affixing an improper tag.

Deputies arrested Austin Gene Frusher, 25, of Gore, for DUI on Sunday. Deputies said Frusher drove up to a safety checkpoint conducted in the Tenkiller Harbor area. Frusher allegedly smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech, and admitted he’d consumed four or five 6-point beers before driving.

Ronnie Dean Checotah, 21, of Tahlequah, was arrested Sunday for DUI second or subsequent and driving while revoked.

Daniel Wayne Mauldin, 23, of Hulbert, was arrested Friday for public intoxication.

Deputies took an information report Friday at Garden Walk Apartments.

John Garrett filed a fraud report last week.

Kelly Clay reported violation of a protective order Friday.

Gary Foster filed an information report Saturday.

Dolly Richardson spoke to deputies Saturday after someone made iTunes purchases on her credit card.

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)?
