Fraud report filed by election board secretary

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies took a fraud report Thursday from the county’s election board secretary.

Connie Parnell told deputies a woman provided false information when registering to vote by saying she hadn’t been convicted of a felony, but Parnell said records show she has a felony history.

In other matters, deputies on Friday arrested Deronie Lee Cheater, 38, of Tahlequah, for public intoxication.

Jimmy Davis spoke to deputies last week about holes being shot into the window of his travel trailer.

A 16-year-old boy earlier this month told deputies a man pointed a pistol at him.

Elaine McGuire reported theft of a black bull on Thursday.

Loretta McLemore reported an assault last week.

Tracy Farar this month told deputies that two flat-bottomed boats were taken.

Lynda Burchett filed a vandalism report last week.

Charlena Rodriguez filed a harassment report last weekend.

Benjamin Patrick Brown, 23, of Hulbert, was arrested earlier this month for violation of a protective order and feloniously pointing a firearm.

Bill Billups reported an assault this month.
