Truck reported stolen found wrecked later

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies this week responded after a truck was reported stolen and later found wrecked.

Alisha Blake said she was asleep when she heard her truck engine start. She first assumed it was a family member behind the wheel, but later realized someone had stolen the truck. Approximately two hours later, deputies were notified that a truck had been crashed not far from where it was stolen. The truck had gone through a fence and had suffered a considerable amount of damage, deputies said.

In other county crime matters, a woman last week filed a report after receiving a strange text message from an unknown number. The message reportedly said, “I hid the body.” Later text messages from the same number claimed the suggestive statement was only a joke.

Kelci Meissner filed an assault report Tuesday.

Deloris Gassaway filed an information report Tuesday.

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)? Bear in mind some less popular channels could go by the wayside with no bundling support, and that while overall packages should theoretically decrease in cost, individual channels might cost more.

Strongly in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat opposed to a la carte.
