TAHLEQUAH —
Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies spoke to several drivers Thursday afternoon when children threw rocks and hit their cars on U.S. Highway 62 south of Tahlequah.
The victims said two children were throwing the rocks. One victim reportedly got out of his vehicle and chased the boys – ages 10 and 11 – and caught one of them. That child denied to deputies he had been throwing rocks but said the other had been doing so.
Deputies tried to speak with the parents or guardians of the children and took reports from the drivers.
In other matters, deputies spoke to Kristie Webber after her child was reportedly spanked by a teacher.
Helen Hammer spoke to deputies recently about another woman getting out of a vehicle, cursing at her, then assaulting her.
Janice Sloan this month filed an information report.
Josie Cleveland said she was threatened recently.
Tonya Sisson filed an assault report recently and said she was threatened.
Theresa Smith reported being threatened Friday.
Johnny Buford reported someone trespassing Thursday.
Jamie Macdonald reported theft of a pit bull dog Saturday.
Sandra Maxwell told deputies someone took copper wiring from under a kitchen sink, from a kitchen stove, from a toilet, and from a bathtub last week.
James McClure reported theft of a truck Thursday and said the truck had been sold to a salvage yard.
