Drivers report children throwing rocks

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies spoke to several drivers Thursday afternoon when children threw rocks and hit their cars on U.S. Highway 62 south of Tahlequah.

The victims said two children were throwing the rocks. One victim reportedly got out of his vehicle and chased the boys – ages 10 and 11 – and caught one of them. That child denied to deputies he had been throwing rocks but said the other had been doing so.

Deputies tried to speak with the parents or guardians of the children and took reports from the drivers.

In other matters, deputies spoke to Kristie Webber after her child was reportedly spanked by a teacher.

Helen Hammer spoke to deputies recently about another woman getting out of a vehicle, cursing at her, then assaulting her.

Josie Cleveland said she was threatened recently.

Tonya Sisson filed an assault report recently and said she was threatened.

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)? Bear in mind some less popular channels could go by the wayside with no bundling support, and that while overall packages should theoretically decrease in cost, individual channels might cost more.

Strongly in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat opposed to a la carte.
