Deputies arrest man for APC

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Saturday after spotting a vehicle in the middle of a road.

Matthew F. McDaniel, 46, of Tahlequah, was allegedly behind the wheel of the vehicle as it sat on Nalley Road with no headlights on. McDaniel smelled of alcohol, had blood-shot eyes, and was unsteady on his feet. Authorities said McDaniel admitted he had consumed six beers, and when he was tested, had a .08 blood-alcohol content. He was booked for actual physical control of a vehicle.

Deputies took a report Sunday from Britten Girdner, who said he was slapped in the face by a woman during an argument.

Charles Vance spoke to deputies Saturday about an air-conditioning unit being taken apart at a rental property.

Harvard Tomlinson told deputies Sunday someone stole property from his cabin, including an air unit, a boat motor, a Murray lawn mower, and more.

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)? Bear in mind some less popular channels could go by the wayside with no bundling support, and that while overall packages should theoretically decrease in cost, individual channels might cost more.

Strongly in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat opposed to a la carte.
