TAHLEQUAH —
Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Saturday after spotting a vehicle in the middle of a road.
Matthew F. McDaniel, 46, of Tahlequah, was allegedly behind the wheel of the vehicle as it sat on Nalley Road with no headlights on. McDaniel smelled of alcohol, had blood-shot eyes, and was unsteady on his feet. Authorities said McDaniel admitted he had consumed six beers, and when he was tested, had a .08 blood-alcohol content. He was booked for actual physical control of a vehicle.
Deputies took a report Sunday from Britten Girdner, who said he was slapped in the face by a woman during an argument.
Charles Vance spoke to deputies Saturday about an air-conditioning unit being taken apart at a rental property.
