Shinn at 3 p.m.: For some, BCS standings do matter

NORMAN — Each Sunday night, the latest BCS standings are released. Each Monday, college football coaches and players say they do not pay attention to where their team is ranked.

Oklahoma defensive tackle Casey Walker bucked the trend on Monday.

“I like to watch it, especially after an upset has happened,” he said. “There’s been a lot of upsets these past couple weeks.”

The Sooners are No. 12 in the BCS standings for the third straight week and, as long as they can win out, are projected to receive a BCS bid.

Walker was well aware of it.

“I like to see what’s going,” Walker said. “We’ll see how it all plays out.”
