Jefferson picks up AP honor

Oklahoma safety Tony Jefferson was named to the Associated Press’ All-America second team on Tuesday, marking the seventh straight year the Sooners have had at least one player named to the team.

Jefferson, a junior from Chula Vista, Calif., leads OU in tackles with 113 to go along with two interceptions and five pass breakups.

He joined cornerback Aaron Colvin as players to receive All-American recognition on Tuesday. Colvin, who has four interceptions and two sacks, was an honorable mention selection to Sports Illustrated’s All-American team on Tuesday.

Fresno State senior Phillip Thomas and Florida junior Matt Elam earned the first-team selections at safety. LSU safety Eric Reid joined Jefferson on the AP’s second team.

The Sooners have had at least one player on either the AP’s first, second or third teams every season since 2006.

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)? Bear in mind some less popular channels could go by the wayside with no bundling support, and that while overall packages should theoretically decrease in cost, individual channels might cost more.

Strongly in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat opposed to a la carte.
