OSU, Fox Sports team agree to TV deal

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State has become the latest Big 12 school to partner with Fox Sports on an additional multimedia rights agreement.

The multiyear deal announced Tuesday allows Fox Sports to televise one Cowboys football game each season, plus men’s basketball and Olympic sports that aren’t included in the school’s television agreement through the Big 12.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Baylor, Kansas State, Texas Tech and TCU have reached similar agreements with Fox Sports recently, and Oklahoma launched a more expansive Sooner Sports TV package with the network.

The deals came after Texas’ launch of the Longhorn Network in partnership with ESPN.

Much of the programming for the Oklahoma and Texas schools is distributed on Fox Sports Southwest to 9 million homes in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)? Bear in mind some less popular channels could go by the wayside with no bundling support, and that while overall packages should theoretically decrease in cost, individual channels might cost more.
