Ed Mitchell

MOODYS – Graveside services for Ed Mitchell, age 92, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Teresita Cemetery.

Chaplain Jerry Henson from the Cherokee County Hospice will preside.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ed’s nephews: Danny Snodgrass, Mike Isley, Craig Mitchell, Brian Kelley, Timothy Kelley, Jimmy McClelland, Jeff Mitchell, Brian Mitchell, Hank Wilson, Greg Kjonegard and Bobby Kelley.

Services have been entrusted to the care of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

Ed Mitchell was born in Missouri on Aug. 3, 1916, the son of Roco Mitchell and Gracie Degase Mitchell. Ed enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Ed Mitchell passed from this life on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the age of 92.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Oscar Mitchell, Elbert Mitchell, Jack Mitchell and Lloyd Isley; sisters Ruth Manning, Ruby Snodgrass, Barbara Allen and Rosie Bell McClelland.

Ed’s survivors include one sister, Grace Kelley of Coweta; and one special great-niece, Angela and her companion Leonard of Peggs. Other survivors include, Linda, Ruby and Jimmy and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Minnie Hazel Callaway Scott was called home to be with her Lord on May 15. She was born on Jan. 9, 1925, to Lidge and Vene Callaway in Grausdale, Ky. She married Louie Scott on April 3, 1943, and they had seven children.
