Muriel Cartwright

TAHLEQUAH – Muriel Cartwight was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Welling, to George Olen and Olive Gaynell (Dye) Roy. She passed away Feb. 11, 2008, in Tahlequah, at the age of 85. Muriel was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, two sons, a daughter Liz (Sug) Lemasters, a grandson Kelly Lemasters, and a great-grandson, Justin Scott.

Muriel is survived by a daughter, Betty Shirrel and husband, Jim; sons, Butch Cartwright and his wife, Terry, and Olen (Scoot) Cartwright and his wife, Fe; grandchildren, Susan Sparks, Robin Scott, David Cartwright, Bobbie Bowlin, Dojaunna Roeder, Jeff Lemasters, Shelly Collins; 14 great-grandchildren, Jason, Ashley, Jessica, Heather, Michael, Robert, Stormy, Tasha, Derrick, Shasa, James, Butch, Kyle and Lyla; and a great-great-granddaughter, Hyden Scott.

Funeral will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 14, at Reed-Culver Chapel with Brother Troy Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Manus Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill Wilson, Lowell Higgins, Charles Dye, Shawn Scyrkels, James Bowlin and Glenn Sparks. Ceremonies are directed by Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
