TAHLEQUAH — Graveside funeral services for Emma Lee Pixley, 99, of Tahlequah, will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in the Caney Cemetery, Tailholt community, with Rev. Charles Duval officiating.

Emma Pixley was born the daughter of George and Bertie (Holderby) Sanders at Caney, on Dec. 19, 1913. She died on Dec. 29, 2012.

Growing up in the Caney area, Emma loved to sew and was a great cook. She was a beautician for many years, and a member of Southside Baptist Church.

She has been preceded in death by her husband, Herb Pixley; two sisters, Geraldine Thorton and Lela Denny; and three brothers Bill, John, and Sam Sanders.
