TAHLEQUAH — Graveside services for Mose M. Henson, 85, of Hulbert, will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Ballou Cemetery in Peggs, under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Tahlequah.

Mose M. Henson was born on Feb. 9, 1927, in Lost City, the son of Richard Henson and Emily Dreadfulwater. He was raised and educated in Lost City. On Nov. 24, 1950, Mose married the love of his life, Sarah Jane (Thompson) Henson.

He served in the U.S. Army from1946-1952, and received an honorable discharge. Upon on discharge from the army, Mose worked for the U.S. Corp of Engineers at the Fort Gibson Dam and retired after 25 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Vivian Gourd and Hester Carey; three brothers, Jim “Ned” Henson, Rufus Henson, and Major Henson; and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Henson.

Mose is survived by 10 children, Sheila Lynn Henson of the home, Larry Henson of Wagoner, Hank Henson and wife Paula of Arizona, Dorothy Kay Anderson and husband Gene of Mannford, Esther Rutherford and Ralph Young of Moodys, Allen Henson and wife Juanita of Wagoner, Sharon Hall and husband Calvin of Tahlequah, Patrick Henson and Jackie Shade of Hulbert, Herman Henson and wife Jennifer of Hulbert, and Bob Henson and wife Sheila Marie of Briggs. His legacy will also live on in his 29 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild Ian to be born in February, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
