Jason Lynn Bowerman

TAHLEQUAH — Funeral services for Jason Bowerman, 40, of Tahlequah, are at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Ron Robinson with Jim Hill assisting.

Serving as pallbearers are Carlos Campollo, John Hill, Chris Johnson, Brad Wasson Jr., David Quinton and Robyn Sims. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Roberts and Edward Smith. Interment will follow in the New Home Cemetery at Peggs under the direction of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at tahlequahfuneral.com.

Jason was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on Dec. 26, 1972. He served in the U.S. Army and was in Iraq 2004-’05. He was an advocate for U.S. veterans. Jason was also an advocate for animals, and he was a member of the Cherokee County Humane society. He died in Tulsa, Okla., on March 14, 2013.

Jason has been preceded in death by a sister, Doris Rene Bowerman; maternal grandmother, Carmel Flahrity; and paternal grandparents, Preston and Minnie Bowerman.

He is survived by his wife, Joy, of the home; a daughter, Shaylor Moore of Dallas, Texas; a stepson, Brad Wasson Jr. of Wichita Falls, Texas; his mother, Wilma Flahrity, also of Wichita Falls; and many other relatives, friends and loved ones.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Cherokee County Humane Society.

Where do you think bicycle trails are most needed in Cherokee County?

In the downtown corridor.
Not downtown, because it would be too congested, but on peripheral streets, like Bluff, Downing and College, and Muskogee but not downtown.
On the rural highways mainly in recreational areas, like Highways 10 and 82.
Only in special areas, like parks.
I do not think Cherokee County needs any (or more) bike trails.
