Northeastern State has been selected to host the 2015 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Central Regional tournament, the NCAA committee announced on Thursday.
The tournament is scheduled to be held in May 2015 at Emerald Falls Golf Course in Broken Arrow. This will mark the third time in NSU’s history that the women’s golf program will host a regional (2003, ‘06).
“We are very honored and proud of the opportunity to host the NCAA Central Regional tournament in 2015,” NSU coach Scott Varner said. “Emerald Falls is a challenging course with good Bermuda greens and an excellent location in the Tulsa area.”
Also for 2015, Lewis University was awarded the East Regional to be held at the Joliet Country Club in Joliet, Ill. The West Regional was awarded to Sonoma State and the Foxtail Golf Course in Rohnert Park, Calif.
The NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Committee also announced the regional sites for the 2014 Women’s Golf Championships.
The committee selected Concordia-St. Paul to host the 2014 Central Regional at Tartan Park Golf Course in St. Paul, Minn. The South Regional was awarded to Saint Leo to host at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla., and Dallas Baptist will host the West Regional at Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield, Tex.
“Being selected to host our third regional is a testament to our ability to host a first class event,” Varner said. “We have the experience and know what to expect with hosting a postseason championship.”
