Thursday, March 7: GOOD MORNING!

TAHLEQUAH — For Friday's Press, we have these stories and more:

• Josh Newton takes a look at how the delays in the renewal of the VAWA measure has affected local law enforcement efforts to combat violence.

• Teddye Snell explains the different types of algae you might see in the Illinois River and Lake Tenkiller – what's harmful, what's good, and what's neutral.

• Teddye also has a retrospective on a terrible accident a few years ago, and how it's affected a local young man and his family.

Poll

Where do you think bicycle trails are most needed in Cherokee County?

In the downtown corridor.
Not downtown, because it would be too congested, but on peripheral streets, like Bluff, Downing and College, and Muskogee but not downtown.
On the rural highways mainly in recreational areas, like Highways 10 and 82.
Only in special areas, like parks.
I do not think Cherokee County needs any (or more) bike trails.
