A Park Hill man was listed stable condition Monday after he tried to avoid hitting a deer while riding his motorcycle in Sequoyah County.
Dennis Overton, 53, was taken to Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith, Ark., for treatment of leg injuries. He was transported from the scene by Pafford EMS.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports state Overton was westbound on Moonshine Road when a deer came from the north and hit Overton on the leg.
Overton was able to maneuver the motorcycle a little farther down the road and stopped in a private drive, a tenth of a mile west of the area of impact. Overton was not wearing a helmet and took no improper action in the crash.
The crash was reported at 10:57 a.m. and investigated by OHP Trooper Danny Upton.
