Woman stable after area crash

TAHLEQUAH — A Tulsa woman was listed in stable condition Wednesday after being involved in a crash southwest of Tahlequah.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Shirley Inglis was admitted to Tahlequah City Hospital with trunk internal injuries. Inglis, 53, was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla east on U.S. Highway 62 when she met a 1999 Ford Escort driven by Rachel Cole, 18. OHP reports state Cole, of Haskell, was westbound on U.S. 62 at 7:40 a.m., traveling at an unsafe speed for the wet road conditions. She lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center median, and was hit by the Inglis vehicle.

Cole was taken by Cherokee Nation EMS to Muskogee Regional Medical Center, where she was treated and released. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. An air bag deployed in the Inglis vehicle.

The crash was investigated by OHP Trooper Tommy Mullins.
