Marijuana and rug land woman in big trouble

An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for a Cherokee County woman charged with a felony and misdemeanor offense.

Toni R. Vance, 33, was charged with knowingly concealing stolen property and possession of a controlled drug.

The warrant sets her bond at $7,500.

Prosecutors allege Vance had a sheepskin rug on Dec. 17 that was stolen from Jerry Corn’s home.

The possession count claims she had marijuana at the time.

The marijuana count is punishable by imprisonment for up to a year and/or a fine of up to $1,000. The concealing stolen property count is punishable by imprisonment for up to five years or a year in the county jail and/or a fine of up to $500.

Vance will be arraigned after her arrest on the charge.

Assistant District Attorney B.J. Baker is prosecuting the case.
