Deputies arrest woman for DUI at courthouse

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Welling woman recently when she showed up at the courthouse while under the influence.

Deputies received a call when Bliss Loretta Osburn-Gibson, 27, arrived at the community-sentencing office intoxicated. She allegedly told deputies she had snorted methamphetamine before she showed up at the courthouse. She was booked for public intoxication of drugs.

Titus Carey, 38, Fort Gibson, was arrested last weekend for driving under the influence.

Howard Cleve Edgmon, 52, of Tahlequah, was arrested Tuesday for domestic assault and battery. Deputy Chance Imhoff said he was sent to a local hospital after a woman was treated for injuries allegedly inflicted by Edgmon. The woman said Edgmon picked her up, slammed her down and then held her down while putting his hand around her neck.

Linda Haynes filed a report Wednesday about suspects taking the screens off of her apartment windows. She also said she believes someone might have entered her home while she was asleep.
