TAHLEQUAH —
Three people were arrested Saturday after a man discovered a number of items stolen from his house.
A man told Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies he was in jail for more than a week, and when he returned to his home, two window air conditioners were gone, as well as a 42-inch TV, water heater, dressers, Dish Network boxes, and more.
Witnesses told deputies they saw a neighbor, Vickie Davis, 48, go into the man’s home with Rebeca Grizzell-Sanders, 58, and that both left with their arms full of items. Later, Davis allegedly returned with Johnie Lee Tinnin, 70, of Tahlequah, and they loaded other items into Tinnin’s truck.
Deputies said they went to Davis’ home and met her in the yard. Davis allegedly pointed them toward several of the stolen items that were near the residence, including the dressers, an AC unit, and the Dish Network boxes.
Grizzell-Sanders was allegedly found hiding in a nearby home and had methamphetamine in her possession. She was booked for second-degree burglary and possession of methamphetamine, while Davis was booked for second-degree burglary, knowingly concealing stolen property, and possession of methamphetamine.
Authorities said Davis had meth in her possession when she was being booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center.
Tinnin was found at a bar near the scene of the thefts and was booked for knowingly concealing stolen property, deputies said.
