Area men sentenced in drug conspiracy
MUSKOGEE – Two area men charged in connection with a federal drug conspiracy received prison sentences Friday prosecutors said.
Clifford Leon Wilson, 56, of Stilwell, and Leon Richard Autry, 35, of Tahlequah, were sentenced by U.S. District Judge Ronald White on charges that were the result of an investigation by the District 27 Drug Enforcement Task Force and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
A state search warrant was served on Wilson’s Adair County home on May 30, 2008. Autry drove onto the property while the search warrant was being served to discuss future transactions, Sperling said.
Officers seized 25 firearms at Wilson’s home that day. The men were indicted in June 2009 and pleaded guilty in July.
Wilson received the stiffer of the sentences, and will serve 10 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for drug conspiracy and unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm. He also faced a drug forfeiture count.
Autry was sentenced to 57 months imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. U.S. Attorney Sheldon Sperling said Wilson conspired with Autry and others to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine between March 2005 and June 2009.
Autry and Wilson remain in federal custody pending transportation to the designated federal prison for service of their non-parolable sentences.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shannon Henson prosecuted the case.
