Man lands in jail on drug charges

Cherokee County authorities arrested a local man this week after serving a search warrant at his home north of Tahlequah.

Nicky Houston Hair, 44, was jailed on two counts of possession of a controlled drug and possession of paraphernalia. Reports state he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Hair was in the living room when personnel from the sheriff’s office, District 27 Drug Task Force and Tahlequah Police Department entered the home. Five baggies containing a white, powdery substance; a used syringe; a paper bindle containing a white powdery substance; a mirror containing a white powder; and a razor blade and a bent spoon were seized.

Hair has previous convictions for possession of controlled drug, eluding a police officer and uttering a forged instrument.

The same three agencies also served a search warrant on another residence, where they arrested Jimmy Sequichie and Lucinda Sequichie.

A District 27 DTF agent said substances believed to be methamphetamine and marijuana were found at the house.

Formal charges against the Sequichies and Hair are expected to be filed in district court.
