Prosecutors have charged an area teenager as an adult with felony counts of kidnapping, robbery and aggravated assault.
Court documents indicate Darren Lee Price, 17, was charged with kidnapping Courtney Geer, 17, by holding her against her will last month in a back stairwell near KB Jewelry, 125 S. Muskogee.
Tahlequah Officer Brandon Vick saw Price in the area and stopped to speak with him. He later discovered Geer, who was seriously injured.
Price, who will be 18 next May, was arrested at the scene. The robbery count alleges Price, of Fort Gibson, fractured Geer’s face while stealing money from her purse. The aggravated assault and battery count stems from the assault on Geer, which required her hospitalization.
The kidnapping count is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years. First-degree robbery is punishable by imprisonment for not less than 10 years, and the aggravated assault count is punishable by imprisonment for up to five years or a year in the county jail and/or a fine of up to $500.
Assistant District Attorney B.J. Baker is prosecuting the case.
