Scam gets woman probation

MUSKOGEE – A Tahlequah woman will be on probation for the next three years after being sentenced on charges of embezzlement of government funds.

Denise K. Page, 56, previously pleaded guilty to the charge. She was also ordered to pay $28,000 in restitution. Charges were filed ion July following a FBI investigation.

Authorities had alleged Page took $28,000 from Arvest Bank in Wagoner by making several fictitious loans and cashing the checks herself. She took the funds during the 2006 calendar year.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Roberts prosecuted the case. Page appeared before U.S. District Judge Ronald White.

Page was represented by Robert Ridenour, a federal public defender from Tulsa. No motions for variance in the sentencing were filed.
