Cherokee County commissioners agreed Monday to deannex another property owner from Rural Water District 2.
Tina Jordan, attorney for Stick Ross Water District, presented an amended order to deannex the property. Stick Ross is adding property near RWD 2 to its district, but those who want to remain with RWD 2 are being permitted to do so.
The board also approved replacing Tony Hallum on the county’s 911 board with LREC CEO Hamid Vahdatipour as the utility’s representative.
In a related item, Terry Sherman was approved as requesting officer for 911. Nick Smith and Clayton Ross will be receiving officers.
The commissioners approved Farah Jones and Nick Smith as requesting officers for Welling VFD. Martin Webb and Martin Webb Sr. will be receiving officers.
A mixed beverage license for Echota House was approved, as were monthly reports from the health department, sheriff’s office, county clerk, election board, county treasurer, court clerk, county assessor and detention center.
A set of regulations for the Cherokee County Flood Plain Management Board was also approved.

The next regular meeting of the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners will be Monday, Dec. 7, at 9 a.m. in the second-floor conference room at the Cherokee County Courthouse.
