OKLAHOMA CITY – Sales tax collections are down more than $100,000 in Tahlequah for October, compared to a year ago.
An Oklahoma Tax Commission report shows the city with collections of $479,498.57 for October, compared to $588,534.34 a year ago. Hulbert’s collections of $7,248.38 are also down from $7,894.43 a year ago.
In Adair County, Stilwell shows a total of $150,940.15 last month, compared to the higher figure of $167,992.49 a year ago.
Westville’s total is $36,756.07, a loss from $38,696.26 a year ago. The town of Watts had collections of $1,907.55 last month, down from $3,207.87 a year ago.
Oaks, in Delaware County, showed collections last month of $904.68 compared to $977.18 in 2008. Kansas has totals of $10,353.59 for the previous month, down from $11,136.81 a year ago.
Jay has a total of $70,971.78 compared to $66,136.01 a year ago. It was the only town in the immediate area to show an increase.
County returns fared slightly better.
In county returns, Cherokee County received $609,089.25, a bit more than the $602,264.43 received a year ago.
Adair County totaled $51,507.38, down slightly from $52,836.77 a year ago.
Delaware County received $222,880.91 last month, dropping significantly from $246,156.77 a year ago.
